Hiatus

So, I’ve been on hiatus from the Smile project for the last two weeks, but that’s all coming to an end. The editor is after me to set edit dates, the producer is on me to set final shoot dates, and one of the project assistants is pressing me to review a list of pictures and other b-roll items and tell her what I want.
I really need a longer hiatus. What a great word; I don’t use it nearly enough. Maybe I’ll try to work it into every conversation today. You know, like, that’s a nice shirt you have on, did you get it while on hiatus? Or maybe, the sun seems to have taken a hiatus from shining. OK, maybe the whole working it into a sentence thing needs some more work. But anyway, sometime this week I’m going back to work on Smile. And the first problem I need to deal with is Dave Brubeck... more to come.
