Another day of the Smile edit. Today, I’m working from a coffee shop near Wayne State. And I’m really enjoying doing a paper edit and being able to work from anywhere, much better than sitting in a dark edit suite. While working on the second act, I remembered something a producer friend always tells me “if a film is going to fall apart, it’s going to fall apart in the second act”.  Let’s hope not.

We brought another person on board to keep track of the b-roll footage and photos. Good thing, because we’re going to get photos from multiple sources like the National Archives and some of the artists and we will need to track it all, keep it safe and in some instances return it to the owners.  And I’m not the best person for that.  So needless to say, I am grateful we got help on board.
